I have some random pictures that I thought I would share... (I am home sick today with a pulled muscle in my back... Went to the doctor and they found a double sized Thyroid in my neck... sheesh)
Speaking of Sheesh... Sheesh and I went to see 4 Christmases... Christmas' ?(Gah you think I would know... being a LA teacher...) On the day that is snowed! This was the snow on the back of her car!

Becca, My ma, me and Liza... on Thanksgiving... we took the picture to give to my dad for a Christmas Present.. It turned out pretty good!

I just had to brag about some of the cuties in my class... I went to their football game a couple of Saturdays ago! They are so cute in their little uniforms! Oh, and they won!
I have the best classes... I could just smooch them up!

Christmas is around the corner!

Whew, time is flying by... Christmas shopping, getting ready for holiday parties, keeping up the house, spending time with Jordan and teaching is just making time rush on by!

I am just about done with my Christmas shopping, and done wrapping.. well, except for the ones that the cat keeps unwrapping... I swear that cat won't stay out of the tree... I found her at the top the other day trying to eat an ornament....

Um... not a whole lot has been going on... and I am too lazy to get up and get the cord to put pictures on here... possibly next time... there are some real good ones from Thanksgiving!

-My kids adopted a family for Christmas.... I thought it was a really sweet gesture... but they arent bringing anything.... so I am like great... I gotta get gifts for a whole family....(not that I dont want to... just wish I had more money!)
- I didnt sleep last night.... it seems like I cant sleep unless Jordan is home... and yesterday he was home but it was like he had to be right there....I am turning into a picky sleeper!
-I went and saw Twilight.... I liked the book better... but for fantasy/action.... I will take Harry Potter and cute little Ron over sexy vampires any day.
- Jordan and I went to this hole inthe wall restuarant yesterday and got sushi... (well not REAL sushi..... it was shrimp in it... and the shrimp was fried) it was delicious!!!
- I worked out hard tonight... Quit weight watchers... but bought a scale.... same theory right?!
- I am watching behind the scenes of Full house..... LOVE IT

sigh.... I guess I better go eat more fudge...hah... see what happens when you quit weight watchers?!

TAKS woes.... and its STILL 4 months away

I have no idea how to teach language arts.

UGH! I have the best kids ( You know except for the profanity they are writing on the bathroom walls...) They really need a really structured language arts teacher.... I am and have not been trained or had the experience with language arts to be good at this! My poor kids... I really try to do the best I can... I follow the TEKS, I make it fun, I follow our scope and sequence but thats about it. I went to a language arts meeting the other day and met up with the other teachers who had some great ideas, and were telling me everything they were doing in their classes.... and I was put to shame... I just guess I wish I knew the growth the kids were supposed to have by the end of the year... I feel so in the dark... I dont want to be the teacher who only gives TAKS practice tests... but I have no idea the progress they were supposed to have made by now.... or by the end of the year.... or what... sigh..... I feel so overwhelmed again.... I don't know where I am going with this subject.... I just keep throwing lessons out there in no particular order and without seeing what the final result is supposed to be.

Ugh I just need help in putting all of these great ideas together in an order that will be beneficial for my kids... but just when in the world do I have time.... or the training... or the hind sight to do this?!

Sigh... someone come give me a massage and then tell me how to make sure my kids are going to be successful.... OR you could just get rid of the TAKS test.... you know, if you did, you might have just gained about a million friends.... of the teacher kind...

Fun weekend!

YAY! what a fun weekend! Jordan and I drove up to Huntsville to tailgate at an SHSU football game! I got to see Erica, Betsy, My Brother, and My Daddy! And of course I got to see some of my Band friends. It was fun... but pretty chilly!

Today, Jordan took me to the nutcracker market at reliant center.... WOW... there were sooo many people selling all sorts of wonderful things! (If only it could be Christmas all year round....) I got about half of my list for Christmas presents done!...WHEW!

Weekend

Today I did everything I wanted to do when I wanted to do it... (Jordan is out of town... hehe)

I went and got Dana's bridesmaid dress... Went to a craft show and got a real cute bracelet for ma Christmas... Went to visit Jordan's mom at work, Went to walmart, went to Cato, laid out by the pool for an hour, went and got a pedicure and ordered in chinese food...hah.... ok, I spent a lot of money today..... but I needed a day all about me.

Plus I got the extended pedi.... they used a "mask" for your legs, oils, lavender, and a hot stone massage...sigh.... What did I ever do without proper foot treatment?

Tomorrow I might go get some shoes to show it off...ha! (Jordan is gone tomorrow too...ha)

Alllllmost Friday!

Happy Thursday!

Ok lets see... Saturday was Dana's Bridal shower at a little tea room in Tomball. It was really cute, we all ate little sandwiches and acted fancy. The 2nd shower that day... for a different wedding, was for a friend of Jordan's mom's daughter. Her shower was quite a bit bigger.... about 80 people there... lots of good food though... let me tell you, my waistline was budging that day!

Tuesday I went out and did my patriotic duty and voted... I Was actually really suprised that I just walked right in and right back out. I had no idea of half the people running.... I mean who honestly knows every judge, officer and rep of Houston?!

Half of my class is really upset about Obama... and the other half is really happy about it. And all I can say is what I told them... I said, ultimately you vote for who you think will do the best job for our country. After the voting is over all you can do is support your leader. That doesn't mean that you agree with everything he/she says or does, but you do respect their decisions in trying to do their best. I did not vote for Obama... but I hate those McCain supporters that actually tell me that he will be assassinated before he even hits office.... really? I mean really? Because who would be killing him.... Republicans? whites? Conservatives? The same people that are against killing (well except in war....ha) ok.... one of my kids said that he hopes Obama gets killed.... I actually went off in a rant in my classroom that that kind of talk spreads hate and hate was so over with about 50 years ago. Really? 12 year old kids, so persuaded that he is bad that they actually would like to see someone die? Its really disturbing.

I have to give a big shout out to Jordan... he is sooooo patient with me. I could do everything but bite his head off and he just hugs and loves me. ( He even set up my coffee this morning) UGh... I need Thanksgiving break already!.... even though that wont be much of a break with all the traveling, but what a time in my life to give thanks.

This weekend is a crafts show! when I get back (If I get a new cord to fit my camera) I will have to post pictures of my home deco. Oh I just love decorating!

Any teachers know a good way to teach main idea, or Blooms taxonomy?? sigh... This teaching lang. arts thing is going to be the death of me.
